~ New Release & Review~
Title ~ Breaking Her
Series ~ Love is War
Author ~ R.K. Lilley
DESTRUCTION. BETRAYAL. RUINATION.
TRUE LOVE.
SCARLETT
He had done it again. Ravaged me. Burned me. Broken me.
Given me air, only to leave me gasping, writhing.
But then something changed. Something that terrified and excited me both.
Something that utterly destroyed me.
Something that made me whole again.
DANTE
Our love was cursed from the start. She didn’t know it, but I did.
All she knew was that I’d lied to her, betrayed her. Done unforgivable things. Unavoidable things. Yes, I had broken promises as surely as I had broken her heart. But, just as every war has casualties, and every lie has consequences–every bastard has his reasons.
FIVE FANTASTIC CORSETS!
Whoa..... this may get wordy.
Because, book hangover.
I received an audible of Breaking Him at #ABF2016 before doing a shot of tequila with two of my favorite people. I had just recently joined Audible to help make my long commute more tolerable. Why I hadn't read the book yet I am not sure. Because, life. That's my only excuse. I have been in love with R.k. since the beginning way back when. I absolutely loved Breaking Him.
So fast forward to Breaking Her. I am so glad I basically read them with very little gap in between. Maybe two weeks? I don't think I could have tolerated much more! This story is f*cking amazing. I didn't think I could love R.k.'s writing any more than I already did but I do now!
Scarlett and Dante explode off the pages- larger than life! The storyline, the characters, the ways they interacted. I just cannot say enough about how fantastic they were.
'The haunted look in her eyes, the pain embedded into her every unguarded expression. All of it spoke of the burdens she was carrying. Alone.'
'Walk away and leave him behind or stay and let this kill you, kill yourself just to see if he'll bleed out with you.'
Good gosh. The passion and devotion these two have for each other is phenomenal. The lengths they are willing to go to in order to both destroy each other (we hurt those we love the most) and save each other is just beautifully beyond words.
Absolutely, without a doubt fantastic read. I need more Scarlett and Dante.... there will never be enough for me. This duo officially goes on my 'read again and again' shelf.
Bravo R.k. I adore you and your lavender locks and nails. I'm like an addict waiting for my next R.k. fix. In the meantime I will just be huddled over here in the corner sobbing with my overflow of emotions.
